Solution

Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru

At the time of Independence, two great leaders, Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, offered India a new nation’s vision. However, each of these two leaders had his own future India outlook. Besides their social status, individuality and age differences, Gandhi focused on a modest life, while Nehru emphasized socialism increasing economy (Lakshmi & Gayathri, 2018).

At first, Gandhi was a religious man, while Nehru was secular and scientific. For Gandhi, morality and religion were inseparable, thus stressing on truth and non-violence. Therefore, according to him, the Congress was to focus on a moral regeneration of India.
