Your suspect is willing to speak to you, so your responses should be comprehensive. Your assignment should include the questions, answers, and a summary (in APA format) that discuss what you learned from speaking to the suspect—at least one theory that applies to your findings. Also, include in your summary your personal feelings about speaking with a pedophile and how you ethically and professionally handled the difficult subject matter.

Question #1: Are you attracted to children?
Pedophile: Most definitely, I am.
Question #2: How can you explain your attraction?
Pedophile: It is a dark truth that most people don’t want to sympathize with it. My attraction to children is part of who I am, and it’s not that I want t to be attracted to them. I just can’t help it. One cannot help who they are attracted to.
Question #3: Have you ever been sexually abused as a child?
Pedophile: Yeah, I have been abused severally. My neighbor, who was two years older than me, sexually abused me, and even though I did not like it, he continued until I got to a point where I liked it. The craving doesn’t stop even when you become an adult.
Question #4: When you were molesting that boy, did you feel like you were doing something wrong?
Pedophile: Yes, I felt I was doing a wrong thing, but I cannot help who I am. Although I understand that there are attractions that healthy and certain ones that aren’t, I did not choose my attractions.
