When an individual is attracted to another sexually, they may or may not be attracted to the other person in other ways such as emotionally, intellectually, romantically, and spiritually. Therefore, attraction can be there even if the sexual attraction is not present. Regarding attraction and desire and their relation to sexual orientation and gender expression, it is important to consider that they do not necessarily predict or define behavior. Attraction and desire occur for different psychological, social, and biological reasons, and each one of them is significant in shaping sexual orientation and gender expression. However, this paper shows that different attractions and desires lead to different people regardless of sexual orientation and gender expression. At first sexual attraction involves the desire to show sexual interests or for sexual contact with another person, while romantic attraction involves the desire to make a romantic interaction or contact with another individual or individuals. However, attraction, desire, orientation, and expression do not necessarily predict or define behavior; thus, one cannot just assume one’s identity based on behavior.
