Organizational culture entails the philosophies, beliefs, values, and rules developed over time that are shared by individuals in an organization and guides their decision-making and actions (Lee & Jang, 2020). However, organizational culture can cause barriers that can make nursing leaders feel powerless in their roles.
At first resistance by some of the individuals in the organization due to personal cultural values is an obstacle to nursing leadership caused by organizational culture and that can make these leaders feel powerless. According to Ghiasipour et al. (2017) some nurses will only act or agree to decisions that are in accordance with their cultural beliefs and values, thus when members of an organization have different views on given organizational issues may cause some to resist. It challenging for nursing leaders to effectively guide and direct all the members of their teams because they have varying perspectives.
