World War II
Even though Germany was viewed as the so-called advanced and evolved nation, its citizens constantly deliberated questions of authority, race and loyalty (Duiker, 2015). Also, though not many Germans were full-fledged Nazis, most of them were attracted to the ideology of the regime because the Nazi Party had promised to end the economic and political instability and unrest in the nation. After World War I, people in Germany had lost faith in democracy and due to the anger and uncertainty, they had a rough idea of the Holocaust and endorsed it (Duiker, 2015). Most Germans believed that the Nazi ideas would fix their problems and restore the nation’s greatness and power; thus, they were likely to go along with the Nazi’s ideology.
Moreover, as violence, abuse, anti-Semitic policies, and the instigation of World War I escalated, the Nazi regime led by Hitler formally agreed that mass murder was the ultimate goal.
