  1. choosing an article from the list below or coming up with their own topic of interest and

  2. search, find and review three additional articles on the same topic for further information.

The students will synthesize information from the four articles in a video-recorded presentation.

Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this project, the student will be able to:

  • Describe psychological theories, principles, and concepts relevant to the subfields of psychology listed in the course description.
  • Articulate broad knowledge of classic as well as contemporary research in the subfields of psychology.

Summary of assignments (Project Manual):

  • Step 1. Choose one article from the list below that you find interesting. Alternatively, you can propose your own topic (with the instructor’s approval).
    • Deadline: Wednesday, December 15th
    • Weight: 5%

Step 1 – Exercise 1: Choose a topic in Psychology (Project Manual)

Choose one of the articles below based on your interest. If these articles do not interest you, then you can propose an article for the instructor’s approval. Read the article and summarize the main points.

Step 2 – Find three more articles on the same topic (Project Manual)

Deadline: Wednesday, December 22nd

Once you have chosen your topic to do research on, find three more articles on the same area for further information.

Tips (Project Manual):

  • Use the AUK Library databases for efficiently and effectively searching and downloading of the articles here.
  • You can ask a Library staff member to help you out with this step.

Step 3 – Summarizing the important information from the articles. (Project Manual)

Presentation Deadline: Wednesday, January 12th

Read the articles to find additional information on the topic of your choice.

Step Three (Project Manual)

(Project Manual)

Physical exercise Enhances Coping skills and Mood

•According to Guggina, physical activity helps one to improve not only physically but also dramatically impacts one’s brain (63).

•Many research studies confirm that regular physical activity can help lower blood pressure, enhance weight loss, and minimize risks of certain cancers, heart disease, and diabetes. However, it is also becoming clear that regular exercise can enhance coping skills, mood and even be applied as a treatments options for some mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.

•This explains the upward trend where organizations are offering their employees a wider range of health benefits. As Guggina argues, besides being an effective treatment option for depression, regular exercise can minimize the symptoms of clinical anxiety (63).

• Therefore, considering such benefits of regular exercise, organizations that have physical activity incentives can dramatically reduce health care costs, enhance employee productivity and minimize absenteeism.

•There are psychological benefits for employees who engage in physical exercise because it helps them avoid psychological problems and cope better when they appear.

Impact of WWPs on Employees’ Mental Health

•In another study examining the effect of workplace wellness programmes (WWPs) which includes physical activity on employee mental health, Emerson et al. argue that the majority of these programmes predominately target improving physical health, but they also enhance mental health, energy levels, stress and self-efficacy which in turn impact, absenteeism, productivity and disability costs (1).

•Therefore, according to Emerson et al., employers should also focus on the beneficial effects of WWPs on employee mental health, social satisfaction, quality of life, self-efficacy, stress and energy (4). T

•he results in this study confirmed that physical exercise is linked to improvements in multiple areas of emotional and psychological wellbeing.

•Since mental health is significant to healthcare costs, productivity and work attendance, Emerson et al. suggest that mental health should be given as much focus as physical, mental health in organizations attempt to reduce absenteeism and illness as well as doing so through exercise and wellness programmes may be a good approach (6). ……………for help with this assignment (Project Manual) contact us via email Address: consulttutor10@gmail.com
