In Mariame Kaba’s “Yes, We Mean Literally Abolish the Police,” she argues that police officers have been using their powers for the wrong reasons by unnecessarily killing, shooting and injuring victims and using excessive force while they know that they are protected because they cannot face severe repercussions regardless of their actions. There have been many approaches developed to reform the police department, but none seem to work thus, Kaba argues that the only option left is police abolition, specifically by cutting their funds and workforce by half. Kaba states that since the police no longer serve to ensure safety and justice in the society, especially their brutality to minorities, “We can’t reform the police. The only way to diminish police violence is to reduce contact between the public and the police.” I agree with Kaba that we should abolish the police because this department is no longer an attribute of security, justice, and safety, many approaches to reform it has failed, and increasing services and institutions in the community can help replace the police……………for help with this assignment contact us via email Address: consulttutor10@gmail.com
