Discussion Questions
Do you believe there is a culture of academic integrity in your nursing program?
What evidence do you have that supports this notion, or disputes it?
How can you promote academic integrity within yourself, and your classmates?
Solution
Academic Integrity
Academic integrity is viewed as a commitment by students even when they are facing agree or challenging situations with regard to the values such as trust, respect, honesty, courage, responsibility and fairness (Huston, 2020). My nursing program commits to these values to respect the intellectual efforts of the academic community around the globe, which it is part of. As a result, my nursing program upholds a culture of academic integrity through consistent and clear policies, specifically ensuring that students who are caught cheating or engaging in academic dishonesty receive a substantive and immediate penalty. This ensures that the benefits of academic dishonesty are minimal, but the possible consequences are severe and high.
Regarding being commiteed to a culture of academic integrity, my nursing program has always communicated its expectations and explained its rationale for the applied policy on late submissions, collaborative assignments, missed tests, proctored exams, and extra credit. Also, there is the use of plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin that help identify academic dishonesty in students’ work…………for help with this assignment contact us via email Address: consulttutor10@gmail.com
