Solution

                                                         Assignment Two

  1. What are the major moral or ethical issues raised in this article?

Regarding commercial surrogacy, issues are worse and unethical, especially when we consider the problem of surrogate mothers. According to Bhalla and Thapliyal (2013), poor and illiterate rural women are frequently enticed to participate in such transactions by their husbands or intermediaries in order to make quick money. These women are denied the authority to make decisions about their own bodies or lives. Psychological evaluation and legal advice are not available in India. These women are placed in hostels for the duration of their pregnancy after being recruited by commercial agencies under the guise of antenatal treatment (Bhalla & Thapliyal, 2013). The true intention is to protect them and prevent them from becoming social outcasts in their community. Sometimes these ladies are preoccupied with their home and children during their pregnancy but are rarely permitted to leave the hostels. Worst of all, they are unlikely to be compensated in the event of an unhealthy pregnancy outcome, and there is no insurance, post-pregnancy medical or mental assistance available to them. Surrogate mothers are being used by wealthy career women who do not want to go through the struggle of carrying their own child. Surrogacy has become more of a business, and protections by the law for the parents and surrogate mothers are urgently needed.

  • What are the ethical reasons and arguments for each side in this case?

At first, commercial surrogacy is beneficial because when an infertile woman or couple is unable to reproduce, surrogacy may be considered as an option. Surrogacy allows help people who are unable to start a family to do so (Bhalla & Thapliyal, 2013). Surrogacy is a decision taken by women in the majority of situations, and this is how they claim body sovereignty and express their free will..……………for help with this assignment contact us via email Address: consulttutor10@gmail.com
