Answer the research question, how does one’s economic status affects one’s mental and physical health?: Erving Goffman’s Theory of Dramaturgy

Question

The research question is, how does one’s economic status affect one’s mental and physical health?

You need to connect the paper to the theorist Erving Goffman and use original readings from him. FOLLOW THE SECTIONS DOWN BELOW.

Intro:

Briefly introduce your topic/ social issue

State your research question

Write something akin to “I will answer this question by using X theory”

Section 1

Discussion of your issue. In this section, you will tell the reader about the issue. Everything in this section comes from peer-reviewed articles.

*I do not want to see any theory in this section **

Ask your research question (remember, a research question is abstract. It is something that you cannot answer with data. Your answer will be speculative).

Section 2

This is your theory section. You will explicate the concepts associated with a theory. As usual, I want you to use original texts. Focus on 1 or 2 concepts.

Do not summarize– use concepts/ parts of the theory that are relevant t your research question

I do not want to see anything about your case study here

Section 3:

Restate your research question. Answer it by applying the concepts above.

This is where you connect your case study to the theory.

*I strongly suggest that your draft focuses on this part

Solution

Erving Goffman’s Theory of Dramaturgy

Socioeconomic status (SES) influences overall human functioning, including mental and physical health.  Low SES and other related factors such as poor health, poverty, and lower educational achievement ultimately impact individuals’ physical and mental well-being and society generally. There are increasing inequalities in quality of life, resource distribution, and health distribution in the world, and social benefits linked to one’s SES are the root causes of these gaps. SES encompasses not only income but also subjective views of social class and social status, financial security, educational attainment, quality of life, and privileges and opportunities afforded to an individual in society. Even though low SES is not a single factor, it is linked to numerous psychosocial and physical stressors that affect an individual’s physical and mental health (Kim et al. 703). Therefore, SES is a consistent and reliable predictor of numerous outcomes across the life span, specifically mental and physical health. How does one’s economic status affect one’s mental and physical health? This paper will use Erving Goffman’s theory of dramaturgy to answer how one’s economic status affects one’s mental and physical health.

                                                    Section 1

A low SES is linked to more frequent mental health problems. It is estimated that individuals of the lowest SES are twice or thrice more likely to suffer a mental health condition than those from the highest SES (Kim et al. 704). The demand-resource imbalance is the root cause of stress responses because people with low SES have greater demands from experiences and exposures that are detrimental to their survival and health, but they have fewer resources to cope with such difficulties……………for help with this assignment contact us via email Address: consulttutor10@gmail.com
